A normal school day is from 7:55 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. The first bell rings at 7:55 a.m. at which time the school assembles in front of the flag poles for raising of the flags and pledges. A student is considered tardy if they are not present at this assembly and must report to the school office for a tardy slip. Any tardy or absence requires a note from the parent prior to the absence or tardy being considered excused; all others are unexcused until note is provided. Upon returning from an absence each student must report to the school office with a note stating why the absence took place. Each student is given a “Re-admittance slip.” This slip is to accompany the student to each teacher (if more that one) to allow the teacher to record makeup work for the student. Each student is allowed 24 hours to make up work for each 24 hours absent. Work turned in after that time may not be accepted. Students have the responsibility to ensure that they make up work during absences. Junior High and High School students involved in extra curricular activities are often required to spend time before or after school preparing for or participating in these activities.
